Here we answer some of those frequently asked questions you might have. You'll learn more about what work.shop.play. is all about, what we do with the information you share with us and of course what's in it for you. You'll also find some contact information should you have any questions now provided here.
What is work.shop.play?
In short it's an online research panel where we send you an invitation via email to take part in surveys, usually once a month.
But we like to think it's much more than that, an urban community consisting of like-minded people age 16+ who spend time working, shopping or playing (i.e. shopping & socialising) in our towns and cities across Ireland and Northern Ireland. Those who join will have the chance to take part in short surveys (sent via email) and see their influence literally popping up all over town.
So, what do you want to know from me?
We are interested in your ideas, opinions, behaviour and general feedback on a variety of topics.
One month we may send you surveys asking how you feel about topics in the news at the moment. The next, we might ask you how often you do your grocery shopping, what brands you buy and which supermarket you prefer. The month after that, it might be a survey about new technology, which gadgets you own and why you bought them.
One things for sure the surveys we send you will cover a whole host of subjects that we hope you'll find interesting and thought-provoking to take part in.
Why do you want to know all of this?
The company behind work.shop.play. is called Global. Our commercial offering is built on an understanding of where people are going, why they're going there, what they're thinking and doing on the way and at their destination. It allows us to offer brands more intelligent and efficient ways of reaching their target audience.
In a nutshell, Global wanted to be even better informed and knowledgeable about their audience and so work.shop.play. was born.
What do you do with the survey results?
Global work with lots of big brands, telling them how to best advertise and market their products and services to consumers.
Sometimes, the research team at Global will use survey results to create material for our sales teams to present to these brands. Other times we'll be using the results internally, to better inform our company about urban audiences. Occasionally we may post survey results on Twitter or other social media.
On our what you've told us area of the website we'll be making regular updates about interesting results from surveys you've taken part in, so keep checking the website to gain access to inside information!
What do I get in return?
We've thought long and hard about how to reward our members. We want to offer prizes that will appeal to everyone, but we also want you to receive your rewards as quickly as possible. That's why we offer digital gift cards. These are sent straight to your inbox after you claim your prize as a result of being declared a winner following a random prize draw. Our digital gift cards can be redeemed at a whole host of retailers (online and offline). So you get to choose how and where you spend your winnings!
We'll also send you a regular newsletter - sharing the results of the surveys we send you and thanking you for your time.
Will I ever actually win anything?
The prize draw winners are picked out at random. You'll have to enter that particular survey to be in with a chance and then the rest is down to luck.
How many surveys will I have to complete?
It's completely up to you. Obviously we'd like you to take part in all of them but we know most people lead very busy lives. We'll always make sure our surveys are varied in both subject matter and length, to try and keep it as interesting as possible!
How long will the surveys be open for?
It depends really - sometimes we may need a really quick response to a question, and so only have the survey open for a few days, while other surveys will be open for a week or longer. We will always let you know in the email invitation how long the survey will be open for and send you reminders by email so you don't miss out!
Will I have to do anything else?
From time to time we may invite you to take part in other research projects for us. These could be online discussion forums or real-life focus groups where we invite you to a location as part of a group to discuss a topic. We may also ask you to send in photos or videos of you out and about if you wish - but don't worry we'll never force you to do anything!
Will you pass on my data to other companies?
Never. Although we will show other companies the results to surveys, these will be aggregated results only. We will never reveal the names/email address of panel members to 3rd parties, as that will breach our privacy policy which you can view here.

What if I want to leave, how do I do this?
We hope you'll find being a member of work.shop.play. interesting enough to stick around for a long time yet... but if you do decide to leave us, it's as simple as clicking on the unsubscribe link that you will find at the bottom of each communication we send you.
